Find early learning and childcare

We currently provide 600 hours of funded early learning and childcare to all three and four year olds and to eligible two year olds. We provide this through our own

  • nursery classes
  • nursery schools
  • early years centres

Depending on the setting, the model of delivery may be

  • 5 sessions, am or pm, 3 hours 12 minutes per day
  • 4 sessions, am or pm, 4 hours per day.

Please contact your local nursery for more information.

Our nursery classes and nursery schools

Nursery classes are attached to primary schools. Nursery schools are stand-alone centres.

Both provide part-time early learning and childcare for three to five year olds during the school year. Some offer places for eligible two year olds.

We support children with additional support needs within mainstream nurseries. Two of our special schools – Braidburn and Oaklands – have nursery classes.
