Libraries for elderly, housebound or disabled readers

We can help if you find it hard to get to the library.

Contact your local library to use the services below.

Library Link

Library Link is a free bus service for anyone who has difficulty getting to the library because of

  • age
  • disability
  • ill health.

Trained staff and Royal Voluntary Service volunteers help you on and off the minibus.

You can choose your books and enjoy a coffee and a chat before being taken home again.

Library Link members don't pay library charges or fines.

Home delivery

The Royal Voluntary Service helps us deliver books to housebound readers.

Home delivery service members don't pay library charges or fines.

Mobile library

The mobile library visits care homes, retirement flats and sheltered housing complexes.
